Unlocking the Secrets of the English Language: Class 3 - SUFFIXES

Do you ever feel out of the loop?  Idioms are often confusing for language learners.  This workshop series will allow you to better understand and, more importantly, better use common English idioms.  This workshop series will also empower you to discover the meaning of words and expand your vocabulary through increased knowledge of word structure.

CLASS 3: SUFFIXES

Would you consider yourself a logophile or a logophobe?  Not sure?  In this workshop we’ll explore many English suffixes and use individual and group exercises to connect them with roots and prefixes from our prior workshops.  You may be a logomaniac by the time we’re done!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Murl Smith earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Arizona State University, and his law degree at the University of Michigan; and he studied six non-English languages along the way! For the past 11 years, Murl has taught hundreds of students English vocabulary and grammar for examinations like the GRE and GMAT.  When he’s not helping to prepare students for entrance examinations, Murl volunteers as a mathematics instructor with the Prison University Project at San Quentin State Prison.
