Fertility and the Great Recession: Crossing disciplinary boundaries of theory and data

This seminar will be team-taught by two teachers who are visiting scholars from UC Berkeley’s Prevention Research Center & School of Public Health, and Department of Demography. They will familiarize students with fertility trends during and after economic downturns in Western Advanced Societies, in particular in the United States and Europe, provide a historical perspective on this topic, and engage students in a discussion of the latest fertility trends associated with the Great Recession.

Because this is a learning community that can offer their feedback on how the presenters can improve their teaching, we will be soliciting feedback from the audience immediately after the seminar on how the teaching and content component went.
